Reverend Edward Butler, Founder and Pastor Emeritus of Open Bible Baptist Church for 45 years, died peacefully in his sleep on January 1, 2019. Pastor Butler, an East Palo Alto resident for over 60 years, has received numerous awards, certificates of appreciation from East Palo Alto City Council, County Supervisors, forAssemblyman Congresswomen Anna Eshoo, and former Senator Tom Campbell, for his services to the community. He was also responsible for bringing Habitat for Humanity to East Palo Alto. Quiet Hour will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Open Bible Baptist Church, 840 Weeks Street, E. Palo Alto, CA. Homegoing Service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 134 Hemlock Avenue, Redwood City, CA.
