If she were alive today, Mrs. Barbara Mouton, who was the first mayor of East Palo Alto, would celebrate her birthday on July 15. During her funeral service on March 23, 2007, she was honored for being East Palo Alto's first mayor and for being the inspiration for the incorporation of East Palo Alto as a city. Go here to see a slide presentation by East Palo Alto's Community Services Director Meda Okelo, showing some of those who attended her funeral to pay her tribute.
