The East Palo Alto police announced that the department had arrested a 30 year old suspect, East Palo Alto resident Roberto Romero, in the Fourth of July stabbing of a 20 year old male. The victim, who has not been identified, was stabbed in the neck on University Avenue in East Palo Alto around 10 p.m.

Witnesses to the stabbing flagged down a nearby police car and alerted officers to the victim. According to police reports, the officers found the victim suffering from a puncture wound to his neck. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated for his injury.

The witnesses also identified Romero as the assailant and he was placed under arrest.

The stabbing incident is still under investigation and the East Palo Alto Police Department is requesting that anyone with knowledge of the crime contact the police department by one of the following mean:.
