On May 22, 2011 at approximately 01:55 AM, East Palo Alto Police Officers were summoned to the 2100 block of Addison Avenue for a reported fight in progress. Officers responded to the area and discovered a 46 year old East Palo Alto man severely beaten and bleeding from his face. The victim told the officers that the suspects stole his wallet containing cash and fled the area. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment and is listed in stable condition.

The responding officers checked the scene and canvassed the neighborhood where the robbery occurred. The officers’ preliminary investigation and subsequent follow-up investigation led them to a home on the 2100 block of Ralmar Avenue. The officers contacted and detained two Hispanic male subjects who might have been the suspects involved with the robbery of 46 year old East Palo Alto resident.

Witnesses identified these two Hispanic males as the suspects responsible for beating and robbing the 46 year old East Palo Alto resident. A further investigation by officers revealed that the suspects possessed objects linking them to the beating and robbery.

The suspects were identified as Leonel Contreras (19) and Mauricio Contreras (18) of East Palo Alto. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has any information regarding this robbery is encouraged to contact Detective “Nua” Lualemaga at 650-798-5952 or send an email to epa@tipnow.org , or send a text message from your cell phone to: 650-409-6792. You may also leave an anonymous voice mail as well.
