The East Palo Alto Police announced the arrest of an 18 year old Menlo Park resident for robbing a 20 year old German tourist. The robbery occurred at the Ravenswood 101 Shopping Center in East Palo Alto.
The police report that the suspect, who is identified as Joshua Wallbank Mahoni, grabbed the woman's handbag. As he fled on foot, he was chased by two 17 year olds, who were described by the police as Good Samaritans.
While the teenagers chased the suspect, other onlookers got the attention of a nearby police officer who was on patrol at the shopping center.
The East Palo Alto Police Department reported that the tourist was not injured and the two Good Samaritans were commended "for their bravery and for their commitment to public safety."
The police are encouraging anyone who might have witnessed the robbery or anyone who has any information regarding the robbery to contact the East Palo Alto Police Department by:
