in East Palo Alto on June 5, 2011.
A three-month old baby was shot and killed in a triple shooting today that also left his parents wounded. The East Palo Alto Police reported that the baby, his parents and his three year old brother had just left a baby shower, which took place in the 400 block of Wisteria Drive, when they were approached by two unidentifed male suspects, dressed in dark clothing. The men fired multiple shots into their vehicle.
The family, who was visiting from Redwood City, was taken to the hospital. The adult victims had serious but non-life threatening gunshot wounds, but their infant son was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the head. The three year old did not sustain any serious injuries.
The police are not releasing the names of the victims and have secured the services of a sketch artist, who after meeting with witness(es) created a composite sketch of the two suspects.
At a press conference held later in the day, the East Palo Alto Police announced a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and the conviction of the suspects.
The police department is encouraging anyone who might have witnessed the shooting or has any information regarding the crime to contact the police by:
