Gregory Leon Elarms, the suspected murderer of East Palo Alto activist David Lewis, appeared in the San Mateo County Superior Court in Redwood City today, January 4, and entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge against him.

In pleading not guilty to murdering Lewis, Elarms denied all of the allegations connected to the murder charge. His not guilty plea was made before Superior Court Judge Barbara Mallach.

Elarms, who is 58, made his first appearance in court on December 21, 2010, when he was arraigned on charges of gunning down Lewis at the Hillsdale Shopping Mall in the City of San Mateo on June 9.

His court case will be continued to February 18, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. It is scheduled to be heard in the Superior Court in South San Francisco, although a court representative said it is more likely that his case will be heard again in the San Mateo County Superior Court in Redwood City.
