SAN MATEO COUNTY TO HOST NATIONAL WOMEN AND GIRLS HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY EVENT
WHAT: In recognition of National Women Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the San Mateo County STD/HIV Education and Prevention Program will host an HIV awareness health fair for women and girls. Services available to attendees include free HIV tests with results provided in 20 minutes, one-on-one HIV risk reduction counseling, and information on domestic violence and drug and alcohol prevention.

Touring Photo Exhibit "I am..." a photographic exhibit, profiling San Mateo County residents living with and/or affected by HIV/AIDS
WHY: In the United States, 25 percent of all new HIV infections are in women, and of those infections, 81 percent are in Latinas and women of color.
