Shooting Investigation

January 2, 2009


At approximately 2:34 A.M, East Palo Alto Police Officers responded to the 2600 block of Fordham Street to investigate the report of shots fired. The shot spotter system had alerted to three gunshots heard in front of 2672 Fordham Street. Officers arrived on scene and located a 30 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to both his legs at the intersection of Fordham and Purdue Street. The victim who was later identified as Jesse Lee West Jr. an East Palo Alto resident was transported to a local hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect(s) fired multiple rounds at victim as he rode his skateboard down the street. At this time the suspects and motive behind this shooting is unknown.
